Our buildings and facilities are modern and purpose-built. Access for visitors with limited mobility is good - much of the site is flat and hard-paved, there are no steps.

We have three dedicated disabled spaces close to the front door. This is a level concrete surface that links directly to the path to the front door, roughly 12 metres between the disabled bays and the front door. If the disabled bays are full, cars are welcome to drop off and pick up on the entrance roadway circa 18 metres from the front door, then park in our main gravelled car park.

Our front door is approached by concrete paths. It is wide enough for a wheelchair to easily pass through, has a low sill, and is not spring-loaded.

Display area, shop and tearoom

These areas have wood flooring and are interconnected at the same level - there are no steps. A disabled toilet is easily accessible from the entrance/display area.

Outdoors seating

We have a large level concrete outdoor seating area, with a variety of table types. this area connects to the main shop and tearoom area via double doors with a low sill and no step.

Adjacent to the outdoors seating area is our formal garden. We are currently adding hard-surfaced paths to this area, level with and connected to the seating area. Leading on from the formal gardens are the informal gardens, accessed via mown grass paths which may be uneven. The formal garden is level, the informal gardens slope gently. There are benches in both garden areas.

Meadows & orchards

The meadows and orchards are accessed via simple mown grass paths, which are uneven. The full walk around the meadow is circa 1km, with one bench roughly half-way round. There are small fruit tree orchards close to the gardens, again with a mown grass surface.

Child friendly
Our poilcy for children is the same as for dogs: if they are quiet and have clean feet, they are welcome, otherwise they should be tied to the bench outside the front door. As parents (and grandparents!) we understand the needs of those visiting with small children. High chairs are available, and we have a clean and bright baby changing area within the disabled toilet.
